Pedro Goicochea
Pedro is a social scientist with expertise in international research in the areas of development communications and education, reproductive and sexual health, and HIV prevention. During the past six years he has managed communications in the iPrEx trial, the first to prove the efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis in the prevention of HIV acquisition in men.
Pedro’s prior experience includes management of multinational communications research, public health prevention interventions, HIV prevention clinical trials, training in good clinical practice (GCP) and human subjects protection in clinical research (HSP), conduct of HIV/AIDS sentinel surveillance in vulnerable populations. He is also experienced in the design, conduct and analysis of formative evaluation aimed at intervention design and operations.
Pedro has held teaching appointments in the fields of health promotion, health communications, communication for development, communication theory, communications research methods and political economy of communications at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia School of Public Health and Administration, Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru School of Arts and Sciences of Communication, Universidad Cientifica del Sur School of Medicine and Universidad de Lima School of Communications.
Pedro holds a Master’s degree in Communication Strategies from the University of Lima, and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion Sciences from the University of London.

Susana Oguntoye
Susana has a Masters’ degree in Public Health and is interested in high-quality, rigorous research and sustainable evidence-based solutions to health systems strengthening. She works on international issues such as female genital mutilation whilst also focussing on other gender based health disparities in the United States. She has experience with program delivery, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation.
Her international work experience spans Africa, Europe and the US in health policy, research, and program management/implementation. She has a particular interest in health services development in Africa and the global south. Susana is passionate about women’s health and gender based health disparities and believes that culturally appropriate and sustainable solutions must form the basis of empowering communities to create change.

Mitra Feldman
Mitra has over 10 years of experience working in Programme Management with particular expertise in Malaria. She has worked extensively with Malaria Consortium and Merlin, among other leading international health organisations. She has led and managed multicultural teams in person and remotely across multiple country projects as well as advising on national government policies and supporting public-private partnerships. Mitra is highly motivated and a great team player with excellent leadership skills. She has extensive experience dealing with a wide range of donors including; DfID, Irish Aid, USAID, UNICEF, World Bank, ECHO, Global Fund, and Comic Relief. She has successfully managed multimillion dollar budgets and contributed significantly to the strengthening of internal security and communications of organisations she has been with.
Mitra has an MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as well as an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Spain.

Simran Chawla
Simran is a Public Health professional with nearly 15 years of experience covering infectious disease control, sexual & reproductive health and gender-based violence.
She has worked extensively in the UK in local government as well as the charity sector in commissioning and project management roles; including budget management, project implementation, report writing and public speaking.
Living and working across India and the UK has given her cross-cultural insights into the links between poverty, health, power and equity. She specialises in health promotion and community mobilisation around BME (Black & Minority Ethnic) health and access issues, with a focus on gender equity and women’s health. Simran is passionate about addressing issues of gender based violence, mental health, child sexual abuse and adolescent health. She has worked with refugee groups and provided extensive training within informal and formal education structures including schools, colleges, hospitals, slums and youth clubs. She also provides face-to-face therapeutic work for women who are survivors of violence.
Simran has an M.A in Medical Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University and an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK.
